Plot Summary
"The Baker" centers on a quiet, solitary man whose estranged son suddenly comes back into his life with a granddaughter he never knew existed. When his son disappears on a shady business opportunity, the baker must do everything he can to find his son and protect his granddaughter from the mob hitmen sent to find her.

SYNOPSIS

Paris, 1782. Pierre Choderlos de Laclos publishes Les Liaisons dangereuses(Dangerous Liaisons), a collection of letters which brings to light the decadent pleasures, unscrupulous alliances, and perverse rivalries between former lovers and expert manipulators the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont. One hundred seventy-five authentic letters revealing the correspondence of two libertines, those of their victims, and their abused witnesses.
But when a series of unpublished letters resurface, Laclos discovers a new and scandalous tale filled with intrigue, unusual power plays, unknown plots, and surprising pacts.

C’est une création sans précédent dans l’histoire du théâtre francophone canadien, des co-créateurs et co-créatrices qui mettent en scène leurs expériences vécues, leurs idées, leurs aspirations et leurs frustrations, pour mieux interroger ce qui nous constitue, nous divise et nous réunit. Pour revisiter notre héritage, commun et individuel. Pour se rêver, s’oser, s’espérer. Pour croire en la valeur de chaque expérience humaine et déminer, impudemment, ce terreau fertile qu’est l’identité. Un spectacle pour risquer tout cela, sans discours ni pancarte, sans rhétorique ni phrases creuses et dialoguer de Vancouver à Moncton, en passant par Ottawa, Montréal, Québec, Toronto, Winnipeg, Caraquet et Sudbury.
